What’s really going on behind the images you see on your smart phone, iPad, in movies or on billboards? What are they trying to sell you?
Critical thinking and media literacy is one of the best tools to help make sense of these images.
Join the YMCA for Me and the MEdia: Advancing Youth Media Literacy, the YWCA’s second annual youth conference on December 7 (10am to 3pm at UBC Robson Square) to continue discussions about media literacy and help you to take ownership of online identities.
This FREE conference will feature a keynote address as well as hands-on workshops for students to participate in that will be led by experts in the fields of youth education, media literacy and digital citizenship.
There will also be a small workshop available for adults interested in these issues.
ME and the MEdia is a FREE conference for students ages 14-17 and adults 18 and older with 100 spaces for students and 20 for adults.
Space is limited so register today!
