BC Healthy Kids Program: Funding for dental care and eyeglasses. Eligible children are 19 years and younger and have receive MSP premium assistance through Ministry of Health Services.
Jumpstart (Application directions) helps kids participate in organized sports and recreation by covering registration, equipment, +/- transportation costs. Each child is able to choose the activity that reflects his or her own interests or needs.
KidSport™ (Application Form) is a community based sport-funding program established in 1993 by Sport BC. KidSport™ provides grants for children ages 18 and under to participate in a sport season of their choice. There are over 35 community chapters in BC and over 175 chapters across Canada. KidSport™ works to fulfill its mission of eliminating the financial barriers to sport participation, ‘So ALL Kids Can Play!’
Recreation Fee Subsidy Program (Application Form)
The City of Richmond’s Community Services Department provides a Recreation Fee Subsidy Program to Richmond residents who are in financial need. Recreation Fee Subsidy enhances access to recreation and is available for admissions and program registration in Richmond’s community centres, cultural centres, aquatic facilities and arenas.
